New “Bars” For Your Wedding

By: Miranda Weidemier

Couples are getting creative and putting a new twist on your typical buffet and sit-down dinners. Food and drink bars are a fun new way to get your guests involved and get creative! They are fun, inexpensive, and easy to create and the possibilities are endless. We’ve seen bars as traditional as a lemonade bar all the way to a southern grits bar. If you can think it you can make it! Here are a few ideas for food and drink bars that are becoming more and more popular.

Candy Bar

One of the most popular bars that our brides like is the candy bar. Get lots of different candy that matches your wedding colors and theme and let guests make a bag to snack on at the reception or bring it home. This bar doubles as dessert and a party favor!

S’mores Bar

This interactive bar is tons of fun for adults and kids. Have different flavors of graham crackers and chocolate for the s’mores and let your guests create their own!  They can even roast their own marshmallow!

Hot Cocoa Bar

The hot cocoa bar is a great choice for winter and fall weddings! Have your guests choose from a selection of white-hot chocolate or mocha hot chocolate and then they can add their own flavors such as peppermint or peanut butter. It’s a yummy way to warm your guests up and have a good time!

Lemonade Bar

A summer wedding is not complete without a refreshing lemonade bar! This can be done with alcoholic add-ins or made to be just a delicious beverage station. You can get super fancy with the different types of lemonade to offer such as strawberry mint or blackberry! Let guests mix and match flavors to create their very own concoction!

Mimosa Bar

A mimosa bar can be for a brunch reception or just for any old champagne toast! Offer different freshly squeezed juices to mix with the bubbly, as well as assorted fruits to extra sweetness and flavor. Guests can prepare there champagne however they desire while waiting on the wedding party to be announced!

Trail Mix Bar

This fun trail mix bar is a great addition to a rustic wedding and it also doubles as a wedding favor like the candy bar. Guests can fill a container with a variety of nuts, dried fruit, chocolate pieces, pretzels; anything you can think of! This is also a great idea for those that plan on joining you for the after party. They can bring their creation for a late night snack.

Whatever you choose, customize it and make it your own! Have fun and get creative!
