Decor trend #3- Grand and Glam!

The one trend that will never die is creating a glamorous wedding that will forever be timeless.  Just like the illusion gowns of this year, seemingly small touches can create an illusion of grandeur to your event that can transform an ordinary venue into an extraordinary formal fantasy.  Colors can range from muted neutrals to opulent jewel tones.  Ruffles, metallics, crystals, and sparkles are a must, but in my opinion there are three crucial elements to creating this look.

First: Florals
Too big, too tall, and too over the top are terms that don't exist when trying to create this look.

Second: Lighting
Chandeliers
The right lighting, or even just right lighting fixture, can help to set the right mood.  Candlelight will never go out of style for making a moment romantic.  While chandeliers will always add an air opulence, indoors or out.  Lastly, uplighting (like in the first photo) can provide an added bit of personality and feeling to any room.

Last but not Least: Fabric

The fabrication of the dress is where it all starts.  Linens can provide color and texture to a reception though.  My personal favorite way to create the look is through draping.  Used during the ceremony, especially an outdoor one, it can add a bit of elegance and architecture.  At a reception, it can soften and liven up any banquet hall.  Check out these amazing ways to use fabric here.

Be sure that you speak to your venue about their policies, and always be sure that the planner being used is familiar with incorporating these elements correctly.  When you bring all these elements together and you are ensured an event that will stand the test of time!
